Earth Server News wants the site to be usable by as many people as possible, including those with disabilities. We work towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA as our baseline.

What we've done

  • Designed with sufficient colour contrast between text and backgrounds.
  • Made navigation operable by keyboard where it matters.
  • Used clear, descriptive headings and consistent layout across pages.
  • Kept interactive elements large enough to tap on mobile.

Known limitations

  • ESN is satire- and video-heavy. Some user-generated content (comments, images) may lack alternative text, because members upload it directly.
  • Some third-party embeds (YouTube shorts, Instagram reels) carry their own accessibility features which we can't fully control.
  • Some decorative animated backgrounds may be distracting; where possible we limit motion.

If you find something on the site hard to use, tell us and we'll do our best to fix it. Email info@sidders.co.uk with the page and what you were trying to do. We aim to respond within 5 working days.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) at equalityadvisoryservice.com, which advises on rights under the Equality Act 2010.
